Sun Spectral Lines : First light of LHIRES III

These were the first raw images obtained with the LHIRES III spectrograph. Configuration was of a slit of 15um, grating of 2400lines/mm. The detector was a Canon 350d. / / / / / / / /The resolution of images below is 0.082 A per pixel and a resolving power of R=24000. / / / /First the region around H-Alpha(6562.8 A). Sun in HAlpha and Visual through FLT98 and Coronado

Today I’ve the the first imaging of the Sun using the telescopes here. The first setup was a Coronado PST with a Celestron zoom eyepiece connected to the 350d. / / / / / / / /Below Ive used the WO FLT98 APO with WO-TMB field flattener, a Baader Continuum filter / / / / / / / /And here details with a 2X barlow Meade / / / /
